Important Policies & Procedures

Classes and Coaching

Cancellation of Appointments
24 hour notification or sooner is required, when you are unable to attend a scheduled appointment, to avoid losing value of that session. Please understand that, because of the high demand in our specialized services, the schedule is heavily booked. When you provide notice, our therapists are positioned to offer that time to another client. We appreciate your support in this area.

We understand that unexpected events or sudden illnesses occur. Speech and Voice Enterprises will offer “forgiveness” on one occasion without penalty when cancelled or missed on the same day of your scheduled appointment. If same day cancellations or missed appointments are a reccurring event, you will lose the value of the session. Director, Elizabeth Peterson, will use her discretion in these matters. She may recommend that you take a program break until your schedule has more availability.

Same Day Cancellation Allowances
When there is snow or severe weather and you feel it is too dangerous for driving, you have the option to cancel your appointment without any penalty.

Frequent Absences
Before committing to a time-lined program, be sure you have the availability to meet the program's demands. When excessive absences occur (missing 3-4 sessions), you will be asked to go on a program break. We understand that things happen and change. You may take your break for as long as it is needed and return anytime for your remaining lessons within a year of your first date of attendance. The program must be completed within a year from the start date or it will expire.

Fee for Service Cancellations
24 hour notification or sooner is required when you are unable to attend a scheduled session. We understand that unexpected events or sudden illnesses occur. Speech and Voice Enterprises will offer “forgiveness” on 1 occasion without penalty when cancelled on the same day of your scheduled appointment. If same-day cancellations are a reccurring event, you may be charged the value of the session. Director, Elizabeth Peterson, will use her discretion in these matters.

Program Fee Refunds
Program fees are non-refundable. We understand that circumstances change. If meeting the demands of the schedule is too difficult you have the option to take a program break and return to your remaining sessions within one year of the program start date. The program expires after a year from the start date and a refund is not possible. If you leave the area, services can be delivered through SKYPE, our tele-therapy program.

Refunds and Exchanges for Products

Before completing your purchase, please carefully review your shopping cart. You may return most new, unopened items sold by Speech and Voice Enterprises within 15 days from the date of sale.

Items that are excluded from a refund are: The American Accent Assessment and Screening 101, The Identifying Accents Practice Kit and the F.A.S.T. Functional Adult Screening Tool. These items are too sensitive for a copyright violation and do not qualify for a refund. We will pay the return shipping costs, if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.). You should expect to receive your refund within two weeks from the date the item was received. However, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (2 to 3 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days). We’ll notify you via e-mail of your refund once we’ve received and processed the returned item.

Materials downloaded, such as auditory support or online seminars, will not be refunded. If you are experiencing a technical issue, contact us and we will help you resolve it.

*For college universities buying in bulk, books can be returned up to 6 months from the date of the sale.

Billing Information Verification

Orders are processed after the billing address and other billing information has been verified. Occasionally, we receive incorrect billing or credit card account information for an order that can delay processing and delivery. In these cases, our customer service representative will attempt to contact you, using the information provided at the time of purchase. If we are unable to reach you after our initial attempt, we may cancel your order without further notice.

Refund, Exchange, Disclosure and Credit Policy for ASHA Approved Continuing Education Seminars

Cancellation requests must be made in writing and received in our office, or emailed, 10 days prior to the seminar date for a refund. A cancellation fee of $35.00 will be assessed for processing. When a cancellation is made 3-8 days prior to the seminar date, 50% of the tuition minus the $35.00 processing fee will be returned, or, there is the option to take another program at the same value anywhere nationwide. When cancelling 48 hours prior to the seminar, a refund is not given. However, the participant will have the opportunity to take another program at the same value anywhere nationwide or online.

Refund Policy for Fees When Program is Cancelled by Speech and Voice Enterprises

In the unlikely event that Speech and Voice Enterprises must cancel a program, a full refund will be given as follows:

  • Course paid by credit card: A full refund to the card will occur no later than 7 days after the cancellation notification.
  • Course paid by check: Returned by mail if not cashed within 10 business days of date of cancellation or a new check will be mailed within 10 business days of date of cancellation.

There is also the option to register in any other program nationwide at the same course value, if the current program is not meeting a participant's needs or the learning objectives were outside of their perception. For less than one hour, no credit will be offered. There is a 4 hour minimum requirement to receive any credit in a course.

You must meet the criteria to earn ASHA CEUs. If you do not, there is no need to complete the ASHA CEU form at the course. Please have your ASHA account number available to write it on the form for your credit when you arrive. Listed below are ASHA’s criteria to earn ASHA CEUs at a seminar.

Refund or Exchanges for Our Two-Day Workshops

Since our two-day seminars close at 5 participants, our refund policy for cancellations adheres to a timeline. We do this because when we hold a place for a participant, we are unable to accept another registration when our seminar is full. Our small group seminars are almost always full. However, there is the option to enroll in another two-day seminar without any penalty.

  • Cancellation 30 days prior to the seminar date. 50% refund.
  • Cancellation 15 days prior to the seminar date. No refund is available due to the timing of the seminar.

If we cancel due to severe weather or another unusual circumstance, we will offer a new date. If a participant is unable to make the new date, a full refund will be provided or the option to enroll in another upcoming seminar.
